Tradwinds workshops for flute & whistle

Tradwinds workshops for flute and whistle run on Saturday afternoons monthly at The Fisherrow Centre in Musselburgh and will take place 31 January and 28 February 2026. Come and be part of the growing community of traditional wind musicians in Edinburgh.

Gordon’s Tradwinds monthly workshops cover repertoire and technique and are suitable for players of keyed and unkeyed simple system flutes, Boehm system flutes, whistles and low whistles in D. Numbers are strictly limited to 12.

The Tradwinds workshops are not suitable for complete beginners. However, a beginners group is planned. If this is of interest, please contact Gordon.

Individual tuition

Gordon’s books are open to individuals and small groups for flute, whistle and low whistle tuition. If you are interested in joining a small beginner whistle group in Portobello, please get in touch.

Tuition is suitable both for beginners and those with more experience, returning to music or simply seeking to improve their playing. Individual tuition is at Musicians Union rates of £44ph pro rata.
